This morning after breakfast your day begins with a walking tour of the Kazimierz District including Schindler’s Factory and the Old Synagogue. The Jews suffered much in Prague at the hands of the Germans during the 2nd world war. If you have ever had the opportunity to visit Israel, you will have seen the many memorials at Yad Vashem for those who suffered in Poland. A tree is planted of the Street of the Righteous in Israel in memory of Mr Schindler. His background was a shady one but many saw him as a hero whilst others as a crook. However, you look at it, he rescued many from the evil grasp of Hitler. It is hard to imagine as you stroll around the Jewish district now that many of the areas were used as ghettos and grave yards and many lost their lives. Evening at leisure.
24 MAY 2018
Breakfast at hotel. Around 11am we depart Krakow for Auschwitz & Birkenau. Prior to entry, packed lunch will be provided. Many wonder if they should take this trip as the images you will see and conditions many lived in are beyond human comprehension. That being said, it is a must, a clear memorial to those who suffered so much at the hands of evil – God’s own people, the Jews, their looks, their knowledge instilled fear in Hitler that made him want to eliminate their race. Persecution in Biblical proportions took place here, but God brought them through yet again and evil was overturned.
Lunch boxes will be provided today and you will return to the hotel around 3.30pm
Evening free in Krakow.
